913 days after abduction, 21 girls out of the over 200 girls whisked away from their school by Boko Haram were released. The President Buhari-led Federal Government said the release came after successful negotiations. The islamic sect, Boko Haram claimed they had to swap the girls for the some of their armed men. Whichever way, some of the girls are back. And everyone is happy, with the hope that the others will come home soon.

Amid the jubilation in some quarters on the freedom of the girls, some people have lent their voice to discredit the abduction of the girls. Some of which are:

Femi Fani Kayode: Then, when the girls were kidnapped, Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, FFK, opined that the abduction of over 200 girls from a school in Chibok in April 2014 by Boko Haram insurgents, was a wider conspiracy just to discredit erstwhile president, Goodluck Jonathan. FFK stated that those behind it had funded, planned and executed the abduction to get Jonathan out of power.

Ayodele Fayose: The controversial governor of Ekiti state said that news of the release of the 21 Chibok schoolgirls is mere propaganda by the federal government, and it's aimed at diverting attention away from more cogent issues in the country.

“What they came out today to tell Nigerians that 21 abducted Chibok girls have been released by the Boko Haram group is diversionary. Nigerians have never had it so bad. People are very hungry. What they did today is just to divert attention from what they did last week by clamping judges and justices into detention. While no one is saying corruption should be condoned, but the due process must be followed,” he said.

Lere Olayinka: Lere Olayinka, aide to Governor Fayose of Ekiti commented on a video released by the Boko haram sect before the girls' freedom that: 'If you observe this VIDEO that they claimed was of CHIBOK GIRLS, you will know that Nigerians are being scammed with these Chibok Girls tales... One of the girls was trying not to LAUGH...."

Asari Dokubo: The leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) Mujahid Dokubo Asari is part of few Nigerians who do not believe in the kidnapped of the Chibok girls. He is among the wailing school of the opposition group that do not subscribe to the abduction in the wake of April 14, 2014 on Chibok school, Borno State. According to Mujahid Dokubo Asari back then raised some salient queston to butress his argument. These are “the right questions begging for answers”: why there is such difference in the testimony given by the principal, why none of the girls while trekking from Chibok (almost km) at night didn’t try to escape. Asari is yet to comment like other wailers on the freed 21 Chibok girls by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

Deji Adeyanju: Adeyanju, in an article: 25 Issues To Think About Over The Abduction Of Chibok Girls While We #BringBackOurGirls, wrote to discredit the real abduction of the girls. One of the points in the essay says: The question I have been asking therefore is, is it possible for all the girls abducted to have been returned to their parents? And that the figure been dished out is just meant to keep the attention high. Can this be about politics?
