The Cross Rivers state Assembly is in turmoil as some of its members are plotting to impeach its speaker, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, Leadership reports.

The aggrieved members felt shortchanged in the last congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, as their interests were not adequately protected, reports say.

It's believed that Lebo played a critical role in the just concluded exercise and failed to consider the interest of his colleagues, especially as it regards the nomination of party officials at the ward and local government levels.

Hence, the legislators in the 25-man assembly have concluded plans to formally impeach speaker for allegedly neglecting their welfare.

In response, the speaker’s chief press secretary, Mr. Ideba Azogor, dismissed the allegations, saying they are the handiwork of mischief makers.
