National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) has condemned what it described as sudden and unwarranted removal of teaching allowances from the emoluments of some category of its members.
It also called on the Federal Ministry of Health to define the roles of all health professionals in addition to their emoluments, using accepted international best practices to restore sanity in the health sector.
This, the association said, has become necessary to prevent its members from taking unpleasant action that will adversely effect the health system, including the option of embarking on an indefinite strike.
