Ayo Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti state and flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Saturday's gubernatorial elections in Ekiti has been declared winner.
The election was contested by 18 candidates representing 18 political parties. However, vote count showed that they were three major contenders; Kayode Fayemi, of the All Progressives Congress; Bamidele Opeyemi of the Labour Party and Fayose, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party.

Fayose won the Ekiti Gubernatorial Election with a total of 203, 090 votes in all 16 LGA's. Fayemi came second with 120, 433 votes. Bamidele of Labour Party came third with 18,135 votes.
According to reports, APC and LP Party Agent failed to show up at INEC State Headquarter for final collation of election result. Already, the APC leadership has issued a statement, rejecting the outcome of the election.
