The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) will conduct primary elections for the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti on March 19.
Mr Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP yesterday told newsmen that the wish of the party was for the 14 aspirants cleared by the party to contest the primaries to come up with a unanimous consensus candidate.
It is the desire of the PDP that we have a consensus candidate in Ekiti state with a provison that it must be unanimous.
"If it does not work out, if there is any problem whatsoever, then on Wednesday we will commence the conduct of the primaries in Ekiti state. By chance if one or two persons disagree, we must respect the party's constitution by concluding the exercise.
We have sold forms and we will go for the elections accordingly".
