The senator representing Kwara Central District at the Senate and Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Senator Bukola Saraki, yesterday commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the successful conduct of the last Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
Saraki in a statement, made available to newsmen in Ilorin, said INEC had shown remarkable improvement in the conduct of election in the country.
He noted that despite heavy military presence, the election recorded a high turnout of over 51 per cent of the electorate, who turned out en-masse to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Saraki also congratulated the governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose for his doggedness and closeness to the grassroots, which he said contributed to his victory at the poll.
