The Kano state house of assembly on Thursday took a tough stance on the investigation of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II for corruption.

The House's Majority Leader, Hon Yusif Abdullahi Atta, says it has the authority to investigate the emir.

According to him the adhoc committee set up by the house to carryout the probe is recognized by law and added that the probe will not be terminated abruptly.

The house says the investigation must continue and describes the attempt by the House of Representatives to wade into the matter as an interference which contrasts constitutional provision.

A Member of the federal House of Representatives representing Dala federal constituency from Kano, Hon. Aliyu Sani Madakin, during last Tuesday’s plenary session of the house urged the national assembly to wade into the matter.
