An emergency meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) failed to hold on Monday for alleged lack of quorum as only three of the 12 NWC members showed up for the meeting.
The members that showed up for the meeting were the party's National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, its National Secretary, Adewale Oladipo and National Auditor Adewale Adeyanju.
Tukur, who arrived the party secretariat at about 11.00.a.m for the meeting, met only two members of the NWC at the venue.
After waiting for more than two hours for other members to arrive the Chairman left the secretariat when apparently he realised that they would not turn up for the meeting.
However, soon after his departure the other nine members arrived at the secretariat and went into a closed-door meeting which was presided over by the Deputy National Deputy Chairman Uche Secondus.
The Media Officer to the National Chairman, Mr Oliver Opala, while commenting on the development, confirmed that there was supposed to be an emergency meeting of the NWC.
He, however, did not give any reason why the meeting called at the instance of the National Chairman could not hold.
Similarly, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisa Metuh, declined comments on the development.
