Nigeria- Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, yesterday, drummed support for the minister of agriculture, Akinwunmi Adesina for the Africa Development Bank’s presidency, Leadership reports.
“Adesina’s impeccable records, humane character, business sense, humility and decorum, sagacity and unquantifiable business acumen places him as first among equals for the position of the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB)," he said in a statement yesterday.
“We, as committed and genuine African businessmen, have gone through the official records, services and academic qualifications of Adesina and found him a fit and proper person for the position of the president of the AfDB.”
Also endorsing the candidacy, the former Attorney-General of the Federation and minister of justice, Mr Michael Aondoakaa.
According to him, Adesina will bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in Africa. “This is because the efforts of the minister will culminate in wealth creation, business promotion as well redefining the kind of support the bank will give towards the development of agriculture in Africa.”
