First Bank of Nigeria Plc has commenced the sponsoring of an online SME radio programme, The Economy & You! The programme which is a joint initiative of Enterprise Development Centre (a school of Pan Atlantic University, Lagos) and First Bank.
The radio programme will be running concurrently on www.edcradioonline.com every Thursday at 3pm and Rhythm FM 93.7 every Sunday at 6.15pm.
The objective of the radio programme is to educate, inform and build capacity in order to provide small business owners with the resources needed to grow their businesses.
The programme will focus on SMEs and how the economy is affecting their enterprise. Issues covering budget, policies, exchange rate and incentives among others would be covered. Once a month, the radio programme would also focus on specific sectors and sector specialists. The programme will from time to time feature SME owners, key stakeholders and successful entrepreneurs in finance, construction, food and hospitality, as well as other critical sectors of the economy.
A twitter handle would also be opened for the audience interaction during the online streaming.
According to First Bank's Executive Director, Lagos & West, Mr. Gbenga Shobo, the sponsorship of the programme is in line with the bank's strategy to build capacity among SME players and foster the growth and development of small and medium scale businesses in Nigeria.
