PM News has reported the death of former diplomat and ace compere, Olufemi Segun.
Segun who was the son of Mrs Mabel Segun, a renowned novelist, died on Friday after sustaining a terrible injury in an accident on his power bike around Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Yeni Kuti, daughter of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and Segun's former wife confirmed his death in a telephone conversation with PM News.
Segun was in his 50's. He served as a diplomat between 1983 and 1990. He was multilingual and spoke seven languages.
He worked with Oceanic bank from 1990 to 1994 and was pioneer Manager of its Abuja Branch. He also served as President of the Bank’s Staff Club.
Segun was also a a two-time Senatorial Candidate in Lagos State. His family is yet to announce the order of burial rites.
