Former Governors and loyalists of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari are determined not to leave total control of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the hands of former Lagos state Governor, Bola Tinubu.
PUNCH reports that the ex-governors and Buhari’s associates are trying to whittle down the influence that Tinubu, will have on the incoming government. Some powerbrokers within the party are also said to be mounting pressure on Buhari to reassess his ties with the APC national leader by questioning Tinubu’s and the South West’s contributions to Buhari’s election victory.
The APC has however denied any knowledge of this internal conflict.
