Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has started intervention work on some of the failed Federal roads in the state.
Some of the roads being fixed include: Akeke Iwuru, Adim Axis of the Calabar-Ikom highway and bad spots along the Calabar-Itu highway.
The intervention efforts were being supervised by a director in the Cross River State Ministry of Works, Engineer Godwin Akeke.
Akeke said that the objective of the state government was to ameliorate the sufferings of motorists who ply the roads.
President Muhammadu Buhari had during the July edition of the Federal Executive Council meeting appealed to state governors who can repair federal roads to start doing so.
