The Jigawa State Government has suspended the chairman and secretary of Sule-Tankarkar Local government council for gross misconduct.
The Council Chairman, Nasidi Abdullahi and his Secretary, Mohammed Abubakar Sa’id were engaged in a scuffle following disagreement while sharing N300,000 from the local government council treasury, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Local Governments, Ahmed Mohammed, who said a committee had been constituted to investigate the incident.
“The two principal officers have been suspended from office and a five-member committee has been set up by the government to investigate the remote cause of the misunderstanding between the two officers. The committee is expected to forward recommendations on the disciplinary action to be taken,” the commissioner stated.
