Huawei Marine Networks have announced the completion of marine installation of the Nigeria-Cameroon Submarine Cable System (NCSCS), achieving a major step towards the getting the system ready for service in Q4.
The NCSCS which is solely funded by the Cameroon government is the country's first submarine cable.
The installation of the marine cable which spans over a length of about 1,100km began in mid-June to provide a direct link between Kribi in Cameroon with Lagos in Nigeria.
The NSCS also incorporates branching units for future connection to Escravos and Qua Iboe in South Eastern Nigeria.
