The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 70-year-old man, Akinolu Ogunlade, who allegedly kidnapped and turned an 8-year-old girl to a sex slave.
The incident happened at Abidi Odan area of Akobo in Ibadan, the state capital, where the suspect, an indigene of Akure, Ondo State, reportedly hid the victim in his place of work for almost three weeks and defiled her on a daily basis.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident on Friday, the unnamed victim was kidnapped by the septuagenarian when she was returning from a vigil about three weeks back.
Ogunlade, who initially denied having sex with the minor later explained that he committed the act.
He said, “I was not the first man to sleep with her.
“I only harbored her for 21 days when she told me her parents had traveled.”
The PPRO stated that investigations were ongoing.
