The Media Assistant to the First Lady, Mr Ayo Adewuyi, in a statement on Monday at Abuja said that Dame Patience Jonathan did not ordered arrest of the alleged impersonator, Naomi Muriah.

"We wish to state without any iota of equivocation that the first lady did not order the arrest of any woman or anyone for that matter before, during and after the meeting.

"It is instructive to note that the meeting ended after three o'clock on Monday morning.

"And all those invited to the meeting, including a handful of journalists who stayed throughout the lengthy meeting, left the Presidential Villa thereafter,’’ Adewuyi stated.

Adewuyi explained that Muriah, mentioned in one of the reports, came to the meeting as part of the Borno State delegation.

"Naomi left the State House with other members of the delegation.

"If she was arrested as claimed, then enquiries about her arrest should, therefore, be directed to the security agencies,’’ he said.

Could not have said it better. We have to be careful now as the social mob will start losing credibility if we do not ask basic questions.

I am not saying for one second that i believe the villa but the question here is what fo they have to gain?

How a politician/gov/president/president's wife reacts to this kind of information depends on how the public reacted to it.

You really think they care? The Nigerian social media community does not represent Nigeria. Let labour and the Unions take up the fight and then you will get some progress.

Labour Unions have more power to force the hands of politicians, d'accord. But don't you think a p8ublic outcry could also do the same thing? Backed up by protests, politicians could be coerced into doing some things they normally wouldntr.

We should not delude ourselves online. Hashtagging is not public outcry. That is what we have to understand. The politicians understand that. Get the people on the streets going and then they will listen. They are not interested if BBC, CNN etc are hashtagging away. Have a look at Eygpt today - a televised revolution and then what, the world now wants an army officer to take over.

Here is a hashtag: #WakeUpNigeria

@TheLeftWing can't hashtags spontaneously generate into street protests? The process could be slow, but something has to start somewhere. Athink.
