The Iraqi police has said at least nine people were killed and 20 wounded in a car bomb explosion on Monday in Iraq's province of Diyala.
The attack occurred around noon when a booby-trapped car parked near a popular cafe in the town of Buhruz exploded.
The town, close to the provincial capital city of Baquba, some 65 kilometres north-east of Baghdad long been a volatile area.
Iraqi security forces sealed off the scene, while local authorities blocked the entrances of the town and imposed a curfew for fear of further bomb attacks, the source said.
This has been so since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 in spite of repeated military operations against the militant groups.
