The Ivorian Presidency on Monday in a statement said that President Alassane Ouattara has undergone a successful surgery for a nerve-related ailment, called sciatica, in France.
The statement said that Ouattarra had been on a private visit to France since Feb. 2, 2014, but did not say exactly when the surgery was carried out.
"The president is well,’’ it said.
The statement added that the president would be back in Abidjan after a period of rest.
