The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kano State chapter, in a statement signed by the party’s Interim Chairman and Secretary, Dr Hassan Kafayos and Mr Andrew Musa respectively on Sunday dissolved the executive committees of the party in all the 44 local government areas and 484 wards in the state.
It said the action was necessary because Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of the state had before his exit turned the party into the ``Kwankwasiyya political movement’’.
The statement alleged that the movement made the party to lose its capacity as a political body.
It also alleged that the governor had laid an ambush for PDP in the state since his assumption of office on May 29, 2011.
According to the statement, the chairmen of the caretaker committees of the party in the 44 local government areas had been appointed and would soon be announced.
It however said the caretaker committee members of the local government areas and the entire executive committees of the wards would be reconstituted after due consultations with stakeholders.
