Gov. AbdulFatah Ahmed of Kwara State has signed four new bills into law, pledging to further improve the well-being of residents of the state in coming years.

The new laws are the N56.7billion Supplementary Appropriation Law 2013; Kwara State Office of the Public Defender (Amendment) Law 2013; Kwara State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency (Amendment) Law 2013 and Kwara State Citizen's Mediation and Conciliation Centre (Amendment) Law 2013.

A statement by the government said the appropriation law was to enable the State Government fund programmes and projects not anticipated in the 2013 appropriation bill but deemed necessary in view of current exigencies.

It commended the State's House of Assembly for the timely passage of the bills, adding that the governor would build on the successes recorded by his administration in 2013.

The statement also assured that other key life transforming projects in education, health, roads, sports, agriculture, and power sectors of the state's economy would be embarked on in 2013.
