Mr. Wahab Owokoniran, a PDP agent for the presidential election collation in Lagos has gotten into a hot argument with Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, his APC counterpart during the INEC collation.
According to the PUNCH, this dispute began when the Lagos Collation Officer, Prof. Isaac Adewole, announced the suspension of the collation of the presidential votes until 8am.
Prof. Adewole made this suspension at 1:48am, and Owokoniran was provoked by this. He demanded to know why the state collation officer had made this decision.
He said the results of many polling units were manipulated in favor of APC and that some of the results of Saturday's election which should have been brought to the INEC office hadn't arrived at all.
He said that in no fewer than 30 polling units in Epe, election wasn't conducted yet results were announced for them.
“In some local government areas, election had been concluded two days ago. What could have delayed the collation? I suspect there are some discrepancies somewhere.
“We will not accept any result different from the one we have,” he said.
Afikuyomi on the other hand dismissed Owokoniran's words, saying “before we begin to make allegations about results being tampered with, without any substantial evidence or a single shred of fact, I think we must speak to facts and records.
“For instance, with regard to the result for Apapa Local Government Area, I have issues, but I will wait for us to get there. I think we watch the way we make claims because it can have serious implications.
