The Lagos State House of Assembly is offering N1million as reward to anybody who comes forward with useful information about the perpetrators of an alleged sodomy of two Ejigbo women. Mr. Ajibayo Adeyeye, Chairman of the committee investigating the matter is also offering N250,000 in addition to the proposed N1million.
So far, the investigation has been frustrated due to lack of information. The case first came into the spot light in February 2013, when a video showing a faceless gang attacking two women, unidentified, stripping them naked, and thrusting ground pepper and hard sticks into the genitals of one of them and covering her in a heavy liquid. A second victim, a teenage girl, was tortured as well.
Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, President of the Women Arise for Change, led a protest to the House Assembly on December 23, 2013, to demand a proper investigation into the alleged sodomy case, concerned that no one knows whether the women survived the torture.
Other than what is shown in the video, nothing new has been dug up on the case.
