Metro Lebanese Terrorist Suspect Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

Talal Ahmad Roda, one of the three men of Lebanese descent arraigned by the Federal Government of Nigeria for the charge of terrorism against the nation has been found guilty of conspiracy to commit the act of terrorism against Nigeria, and has been sentenced by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to life imprisonment.

Mustapha Fawaz and Abdallah Thahini, the other two arrested over suspicions of conspiracy were acquitted of their 16 count charge and the properties of Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park has been discharged and returned to the newly released pair.

The presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola stated that the prosecution failed to prove the guilt of the three suspects beyond reasonable doubt. He also expressed the courts perspective of the investigations conducted by the prosecution as shady, given that the alleged ammunition seized from the property of the three suspects failed to be presented in court and the photographer who allegedly took pictures of the weapons failed to appear in court.
