Nigeria - Microsoft in conjunction with Endive Project will this weekend, May 9, showcase over 10,000 job openings for the Nigerian youth population at a job fair tagged ‘Career and Employment Fair 2015’, The Guardian reports.
The Fair is aimed at creating an opportunity for potential job seekers to meet with career experts and recruiters to understand the job market, be positioned and take advantage of available jobs as statistics reveal that 50 per cent of youths (age 18 – 35 years) are either unemployed or underemployed.
Director, Education and Citizenship, Microsoft Nigeria, Patrick Onwumere, said: “Empowering young people and fostering the development of 21st Century skills for this generation is not only our work at Microsoft, but also our passion.
"Our employability program in partnership with the Future Project and Jobberman has trained over 63,000 people in two years, this initiative is one of our efforts to place more and more people into jobs and fight unemployment.”
