For unknown reasons, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has abandoned the Assembly Complex in the state capital, Lafia, and relocated to Karu LGA in order to hold a sitting, which at this moment is ongoing, to deliberate on a petition against the state Chief Judge, Suleiman Dikko, over the composition of the seven-member panel raised to investigate allegations against Governor Umaru Al-Makura.
The Peoples Democratic Party, #PDP-dominated Assembly had asked the chief judge to set up the panel as part of the impeachment process of Mr. Al-Makura, Premium Times say.
The governor, a member of the All Progressives Congress, #APC, has denied any wrongdoing and his party has condemned the impeachment process and blamed the PDP and the presidency for it.
