The National Assembly will today pass the 2016 budget, three months after President Muhammadu Buhari presented the fiscal document.
The Appropriation committees of the both chambers laid their reports on the 2016 budget yesterday and was on the number three on the order paper until the death of a member of the House of Representatives was announced which made the Upper Chamber to postpone passage til today.
It will be recalled that the laying of the budget was postponed four times but DailyTrust gathered that the both chambers have harmonised their reports on the budget and maintained the 6.077tr figure of President Buhari.
Yesterday, the Senate Leader Ali Ndume said the budget would be passed tomorrow (today).
“We will pass the budget tomorrow (today) and complete works on it, “ he said.
