The four GSM operators and 10 Value- Added Services, VAS, providers are currently indulging in ‘illegal mining’ of Nigeria’s vast telecoms VAS market, government officials have said.

National Mirror estimates that the VAS market generates $750m in revenues annually.

The four telecoms firms being investigated by the telecoms industry regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, are MTN, Globacom, Airtel and Etisalat.
