The Federal Government of Nigeria in a new bid to establish a national flag carrier is looking for a strategic partner that will work with the government, according to The Reporter.
Nigeria Airways, Virgin Nigeria and Air Nigeria were the national flag carriers of Nigeria at different times which all went to the dust bin of history.
Report has it that FG has hired an international consulting firm, KPMG, to advise it on the establishment of the new national airline.
KPMG has shortlisted Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways and Lufthansa for the role but it's not yet clear if the shortlisted companies will have a stake on the new airline or they will work on the establishment of the airline and take management contract.
KPMG is expected to make the final decision on selecting the partner airline in the coming few months.
