The Minister of State for Power, Mohammed Wakil, has alerted the public to what he called infrastructure terrorism sabotaging government programmes in some sectors of the economy .

Speaking at a press briefing on the state of the power sector at the ministry of power headquarters yesterday, Wakil defined infrastructure terrorism as an organised means of sabotaging public installations, saying the development became rampant in the oil and power sectors of the economy.
He said: “We are battling terrorism of a different kind. A new form of terrorism targeting critical national infrastructures is worrisome. Attacking oil pipelines is normally linked with economic motivation. Now, gas pipelines are been targeted. Gas cannot be stolen.
