President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly endorsed Senator Ahmed Lawan for Senate President.
According to SAHARA REPORTERS, President Buhari declared his preference for Senator Lawan as the new Senate President during a meeting between the president and members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
An anonymous source who was present at the meeting said, ''The president explained to us that the North Central part of Nigeria has held the Senate Presidency for long enough. He therefore disclosed that the post should be allowed to move to another geo-political zone''.
APC leaders are expected to meet this week and finalize on whether or not to go with President Buhari's chosen candidate.
