An equipment belonging to the Nigerian Army on Wednesday exploded at a workshop in Damaturu, Yobe state.
According to Daily Trust, the pipe-like equipment was brought to Usman Musa, a fabricator to be cut into specific size. However, the equipment exploded killing the fabricator on the spot. A soldier was also badly injured.
An eye witness said Usman didn't want the job but was later convinced by the military to work on the equipment.
“It wasn’t long I left the place when the loud sound rented the air. Usman was already dead when I returned, I saw the soldier badly injured, blood was gushing out all over his body before his colleagues rushed him to hospital,” he said
Spokesman of 27 Taskforce Brigade, Lt George Akupe confirmed the incident.
