The Nigerian Police Force has arraigned one person for allegedly providing false information to the police in connection with the raid on the house of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

Mr Ahmed Echoda was arraigned on Tuesday allegedly providing false information to the police, leading to the raid of Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s house.

The suspect, who was arraigned on one count of giving false information to the police, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Umar Kagarko subsequently ordered that the alleged fake whistle-blower should be remanded in Keffi Prison, pending the ruling of his bail application on June 5.

The official Guest House of the Deputy Senate President in Maitama, Abuja has been raided on Friday.

Wonderful. Good a thing that it is reported here too that he has been arraigned. I had said that there can't be such raid without a cause- whistle blowing.

But the DSS had earlier denied involvement and knowledge of the raid. Now, they have admitted that someone actually gave them fake information. They acted without verification, it is unlike the security personnels.

One of the reasons why I love Nigerian Bulletin is their high level of unbaiseness. It is not affiliated to any political party. So transparent and accurately timely.
