The police authorities said it was awaiting the approval of the president to recruit 30,000 personnel to boost the number of its workforce in line with the required world standard.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Logistics and Supply, Maigari Abbas Dikko, during a visit to Kebbi State made the submission when he paid Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu a courtesy visit.
He appealed to state governors and traditional rulers to assist the Force in vetting prospective candidates for recruitment from their respective states to guide against recruiting social misfits and other criminal minded individuals.
