Nigerian Senate on Wednesday discussed the migration and slave trade issue in Libya where Nigerian migrants and other citizens are being sold in to slavery, and subjected to inhuman treatment.
While corroborating the Senators, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki said: “We need a prayer that will lead to specific actions that will address this deployable decision.
“As a country it’s a slap on our face if Nigerians can be treated in this manner.”.
“Ivory coast that’s not as good as Nigeria is taking actions to bring back their citizens, we need to be doing similar things. We need to mandate the foreign affairs to summon the libyan ambassador here in Nigeria to explain what is happening.”
