The Nigerian stock market resumed on a downward trend this week, recording a 1.82 per cent depreciation of what it gained last week.
Market capitalisation closed at N11.197 trillion after it depreciated by N207 billion as against N11.404 trillion it recorded on Friday. Similarly, the All Share Index went down by 1.82 per cent or 628.80 basis points to close at 33,914.25 as against 34,543.05 points on Friday.
Investors bought and sold a total of 213.606 million shares valued at N4.44 billion in 4,398 transactions with the financial services sector accounting for a total of 151.535 million shares valued at N2.37 billion.
The number of gainers at the close of trading session was 17, while 33 were on the decliners’ table.
