16 Nigerian students accused of smashing furniture inside the Nigerian Embassy in Moscow have been arrested.

According to BBC NEWS, the students attacked the embassy to express their anger over unpaid allowances.

Russia's interior ministry told local media that the 16 suspects were removed from the embassy building at the request of Nigerian staff. The 16 students who are all students of tertiary institutions in Russia will face administrative charges.

Last year, Nigerian students beat up an embassy representative over non-payment of grants, Russia's lenta.ru news website reports.
