As the forensic investigation into the alleged missing $49.8billion ordered by President Goodluck Jonathan is set to begin, Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye, has asked the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison- Madueke and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Andrew Yakubu, to step aside to enable the forensic auditors do their jobs without interference.
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan had endorsed forensic auditing of the NNPC to unravel the alleged missing unremitted oil money by the NNPC to the Federation Account.
The former House of Representatives member who spoke with journalists in Abuja yesterday, stated that over 96 associations consisting of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organization (CBOs) and Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) had been fully mobilized for what he referred to as the “Mother of all Protests” over the issues.
