Sports No decision yet on Powell's drugs case

No decision has been reached yet on whether Asafa Powell would face further sanctions after he tested positive to banned substances last year.

A panel was set-up to hear Powell's case, but the trial has been adjourned to February.

Powell was accused to have used a stimulant named oxilofrine, but a toxicologist claimed the Jamaican would have gained no advantage by using it.

“I simply relied on the referrals of well-known and trusted physios who we had worked with in the past,” Powell’s agent Paul Doyle told the hearing in Kingston," Powell's camp stated.

Powell alongside other five Jamaican athletes failed drugs test last year, missing out on the World Athletics Championship held in Moscow.

If found guilty by the panel,Powell could face two years ban from athletics.
