The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has threatened to embark on an industrial action over delay in the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
NUPENG’s leadership did not however give details of when it would commence the strike, but blamed the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country on multinational oil companies, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).
President of NUPENG, Igweh Achese, disclosed this shortly after the union’s National Administrative Council rose from a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday night.
