The Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, who has an impeachment noose hanging over him, yesterday carried on with the affairs of the state, by swearing in 36 Development Area Administrators, four Permanent Secretaries and a Special Adviser.
A source closed to the governor revealed that the appointment of the administrators was part of a deal struck between the governor and the state’s lawmakers, including the speaker, Umaru Fintiri, in Abuja on Wednesday aimed at reconciling the executive and the legislators.
THISDAY gathered that the failure by Nyako to endorse the list of administrators given to him by the lawmakers earlier was one of the contentious issues that led to the impeachment motion against him and his deputy, Bala Ngillari.
