In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, Gordon Bozimo, Chairman of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Governing Board, has commended former military Head of State, retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari for adopting patriotism against terrorists activities in the country.
He described Buhari's comments as 'refreshing' in a season where some had chosen the path of making provocative and violence inducing statements against the government.
"Buhari's stance is commendable as the NYSC and its operations have been severally affected by the activities of the terrorists and violence in parts of the country.
"It is necessary for Nigerian political class to emulate Buhari's position, who said that the activities of terrorists are a fight against Nigeria and Nigerians.
"Nigerians cannot give up or be cowed into submission.
According to him, Buhari’s comments proved that the fight against terrorism needed all hands to be on deck irrespective of political, ethnic and religious affiliations.
"Buhari spoke, not as a leader of the opposition party, not as a Northerner or a Muslim, but as a Nigerian interested in the future of Nigeria," he said.
