Responding to the worries and suspicion over the presence of the DSS in Osun state a few days to the Osun 2014 elections, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has given an explanation.

Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, yesterday, explained that the deployment of armed security operatives, including soldiers to Osun State was to prevent breakdown of law and order before, during and after the governorship election.
Obanikoro, who spoke at a press conference in Osogbo last night, said soldiers deployed at the state were not meant to intimidate people, but to ensure peace in all parts of the state.
He stressed that the rationale behind the deployment of the security agents at the state was for maintenance of peace and orderliness.
