Nigeria - A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered Coscharis Motors Limited to discloses to a civil society group; Enough is Enough (EIE), Nigeria, details of the cost of the two bullet-proof cars purchase by former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, Leadership reports.
Justice Mohammed Yunusa gave the order while delivering judgment on a Freedom of Information application filed by the Media Rights Agenda (MRA), on behalf of EIE against Coscharis after the company refused to honour a FOI request on the controversial purchase.
According to the Judge, although Coscharis Motors is a private company the FOI Act is applicable to it because public funds is involved in the transaction.
