Tunde Ogunsakin according to The Nation is set to replace Mbu Joseph Mbu as the Commissioner of Police for Rivers State this week.
Mbu had a turbulent tenure as Rivers CP as he was under attack for allegedly taking sides in the Rivers State political crisis, but he'd defended himself, maintaining that he is a professional and was only doing his job.
Ogunsakin, described as a tough cop, was in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), in Lagos until last Thursday, when he was transferred to the Rivers Command.
In 1984 he was the Divisional Crime Officer, in charge of Bodija, Ibadan and he he received his anti-riot Mobile Police Training at Gwoza, Borno State in 1985.
He was the Unit Commander No. 4 Squadron, Ibadan before he joined the Interpol Lagos as a detective Superintendent in 1989
“I’m going to do my professional work and create an environment for the peaceful conduct of election,” he told newsmen yesterday, vowing to be fair to all.
