Politics Ondo Election: Fear Grips Owo as Gunmen Murder Prominent APC Chief

There is fear in Owo, Ondo state ahead of the governorship elections in the state as a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was on Thursday night shot dead by gunmen.

A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the same area orchestrated the attack, a resident of the community said, according to Daily Post.

“They stormed Arogun’s house, shot him and also destroyed his property.

“They did not stop there, they went to the house of Chief Ekungba and destroyed all the vehicles parked in the compound.

“We are now scared in Owo. He does not want people to come out and vote on the election day.

“We are calling on security agencies to come to our rescue,” the source said.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Femi Joseph said he has not been officially briefed.
