The suspicion by the Peoples Democratic Party’s governors that the senatorial ambitions of some of their members were being tampered with by the leadership of the party led to the revolt by the governors against the leadership of the party last week.
It took the intervention of President Goodluck Jonathan to douse the tension that ensured over the matter. The president, was said to have quickly arrested the development after an emergency meeting with both the governors and the party’s National Working Committee respectively on Sunday and Monday.
