The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, has started official work as he ordered policemen and officers especially those in the mobile unit to rise up and nip the security challenges in the country in bud.

Idris said this at the passing out parade of squadron commanders seminar/combat operation course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, Ila Orangun on Saturday.

Idris said, “This training is coming at a very crucial time when the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to build a police force capable of combating emerging security challenges such as kidnapping, militancy, insurgency communal clashes, cattle rustling and a host of other organised crimes.

The new IG identified corruption as a factor holding back the police from performing primarily, but promised to tackle this issue for a better delivery.
