President Goodluck Jonathan is currently seeking approval to extend the recently expired state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
The National Defence Council (NDC) has approved the extension of the state of emergency in the north-eastern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.
The attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Mr Mohammed Adoke who gave the hint after a meeting of the council presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the presidential villa, Abuja noted that the president would soon forward a request to the National Assembly for its approval.
“We just reviewed the issue of the state of emergency and the government would be requesting the National Assembly to extend it,” Adoke stated.
