Metro Receptionist Gets N100,000 Bail for Allegedly Stealing Drinks Worth N2,200



An Ikeja Magistrates' Court on Wednesday granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 to a receptionist, Benjamin Eleazu, 33, who allegedly stole drinks worth N2, 200.

Eleazu, a resident of No. 4, Akorede St., Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos, is facing a count charge.

The Magistrate, Miss A.O. Akinde, ordered said that the accused should also provide two sureties in like sum as part of the bail conditions.

The prosecution had alleged that the accused committed the offence at 8 a.m. on May 27 at Somerset Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to Sgt. Chinalu Uwadione, Eleazu stole one Power Horse drink worth N800, two packets of apple juice worth N700 and Coca Cola products valued at N700.

He said that the goods belonged to Abbstal Ltd.

Eleazu pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court adjourned the case to June 30 for mention.
